6 Decorating Tips That Won’t Break the Bank

How do you fall in love with your room again once you’ve tired of the same four walls?
6 astuces pour décorer votre chambre sans vous ruiner

We often begin to think about redecorating around the same time the flowers start blooming. After several months of staring at the same 4 walls, they can quickly become as boring and grey as the cold winter outside.

How do you fall back in love with your room without going broke?

Here are some tips that will motivate you as much as the coming warm weather!

1. Let yourself be inspired by your walls.

We often put up pictures of ourselves, vacations, our families or memories with friends, but why not put up photos of your idols, your greatest inspirations? You could even print inspiring phrases or lyrics sung from your music idols. It will probably make you nostalgic for your old bedroom plastered with magazine posters!

2. Don’t forget the floor!

When we think of decoration, we usually think of hanging objects on the walls or adding knick knacks on furniture, but we often forget the floor. The simple fact of adding an eclectic carpet can give a breath of fresh air to your room. Bonus: Your feet will appreciate not being woken up by a cold floor.

3. Change the wall(s).

The most drastic way to shake up a room is to paint one of the walls in a contrasting color or by affixing a tapestry. A good suggestion is to choose the wall behind the bed to complement it, especially if you don’t have a headboard.

4. Simplify your color choices.

No idea which colors to choose for your room? Choose a color and organize it in different shades. Whether it’s from dark pink to baby pink or white to black, it will be much simpler to choose and arrange your different decorative items.

5. Mirror, mirror

Does your room seem too small to get truly creative? Adding a mirror not only gives the illusion of enlarging the room, but it’s also perfect for sharing your favorite outfits on Instagram or getting your best friend’s approval before a hot date!

Psst! Don’t forget on top of your bed. There are small mirrors, often sold in sets, with which you can create pretty original headboard designs.

6. Feel like you’re in a hotel

One of the easiest ways to change the mood of a room is by changing your cushions. Experts recommend between 3 and 8, depending on the size of your bed. What makes you want to spend the day in bed?! Tip: comfy cushion covers. They often cost less and take up less space when they are out of season. A good reason for changing the decor every month!
