Ce sujet est encore une fois \u00e0 l\u2019ordre du jour et nous transporte maintenant du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la Californie, puisque la ville de San Francisco se prononcera le 20 novembre sur une modification de <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kqed.org\/newsfix\/2012\/09\/25\/would-you-live-in-a-san-francisco-apartment-the-size-of-a-living-room\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>son code du b\u00e2timent<\/strong><\/a> qui permettra la construction d\u2019appartements de 220 pieds carr\u00e9s. Pour vous donner une id\u00e9e, cela repr\u00e9sente l\u2019\u00e9quivalent d\u2019un garage simple, ou le double d\u2019une cellule de prison! Ces nouvelles dimensions retranchent 70 pieds carr\u00e9s au r\u00e8glement en place et surpassent les normes du projet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.planetizen.com\/node\/57508\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kips Bay<\/strong><\/a> de Manhattan qui fixent la taille minimale des appartements \u00e0 275 pieds carr\u00e9s (soit environ 25% plus d\u2019espace). Ces micro-appartements \u00ab&nbsp;abordables par design&nbsp;\u00bb permettraient de diversifier l\u2019offre sur le march\u00e9 de San Francisco, o\u00f9 le taux d\u2019inoccupation fr\u00f4le le z\u00e9ro, o\u00f9 plus de 40 % de la population habite seul et o\u00f9 les prix des loyers sont mirobolants, ayant connus une hausse de 13% seulement au cours de la derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e. Abordables, ces micro-appartements seraient offerts au prix de 1200 \u00e0 1500 $ par mois, soit la moiti\u00e9 du prix moyen d\u2019un appartement dans cette ville. L\u2019un des <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/realestate\/article\/Micro-apartments-next-for-S-F-3706648.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>projets propos\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>s s\u2019installerait dans le quartier South Market et serait destin\u00e9 aux nombreux jeunes professionnels travaillant dans l\u2019industrie des technologies web. Ces complexes d\u2019habitation compteraient de nombreuses aires communes et des stationnements pour v\u00e9los, mais aucun pour les voitures. Les promoteurs misent ainsi, dans une ville bien desservie en transports en commun, sur les transports alternatifs. D\u2019autres y voient une fa\u00e7on adapt\u00e9e pour des gens qui d\u00e9butent sur le march\u00e9 du travail et qui ne poss\u00e8dent pas beaucoup de biens de tirer leur \u00e9pingle du jeu dans un march\u00e9 sursatur\u00e9. Pour l&rsquo;instant, le code du b\u00e2timent en vigueur au Qu\u00e9bec ne comporte pas de restriction quant \u00e0 la taille minimale des pi\u00e8ces, \u00e0 l&rsquo;exception de la hauteur des plafonds.
