Qui vit \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al entend parler de ce populaire quartier dont on ne cesse de parler dans tous les m\u00e9dias. Alors est-ce si \u00e9tonnant de voir qu\u2019on a pens\u00e9 en faire un roman ! L\u2019auteur Marie H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Poitras a intitul\u00e9 son roman \u00ab <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallimardmontreal.com\/catalogue\/livre\/griffintown-poitras-marie-helene-9782896940257\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Griffintown<\/strong><\/span><\/a> \u00bb et s\u2019est inspir\u00e9e, en partie, de toutes les questions territoriales qui surgissent en ce moment suite au d\u00e9veloppement de ce secteur du Sud-Ouest de Montr\u00e9al. Jusque-l\u00e0 on comprend, mais on trouve quand m\u00eame \u00e9trange cette association au Far Ouest en plein milieu urbain et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re des t\u00e9l\u00e9phones cellulaires. On saisira davantage le lien au Far Ouest (\u00e9crit de cette mani\u00e8re dans le roman) si on a pris connaissance du d\u00e9bat sur la sauvegarde de certains sites dont le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heritagemontreal.org\/fr\/griffintown-horse-palace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Horse Palace<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> situ\u00e9 sur la rue Ottawa. M\u00eame si ce site fait partie d\u2019une autre \u00e9poque, il sert encore d\u2019\u00e9curie. Tout comme moi, vous serez sans doute \u00e9tonn\u00e9s d\u2019apprendre que les chevaux des cal\u00e9chiers du Vieux-Montr\u00e9al y logent encore. Un <a href=\"http:\/\/griffintownhorsepalace.com\/a-propos-de-nous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>comit\u00e9<\/strong><\/span><\/a> a d\u2019ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 mis sur pied pour tenter de pr\u00e9server la vocation de ce site vieux de 150 ans. Comme on le constate il n\u2019est pas facile de trouver un \u00e9quilibre entre la conservation et la mise en valeur patrimoniale de certains lieux et d\u2019autre part un d\u00e9veloppement harmonieux tourn\u00e9 vers l\u2019avenir. Je trouve toutefois tr\u00e8s encourageant et positif que le d\u00e9bat prenne place pour favoriser les meilleurs choix possibles pour tous les r\u00e9sidents actuels et ceux qui songent \u00e0 venir s\u2019y installer.
