That\u2019s why they opened in 2015. <\/span><span>&#8220;It\u2019s a story of love at first sight!&#8221; says Magda Slezak, the owner.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><em><strong><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-24370484-1be6-ec8f-d9a6-23a08cddcded\">&#8220;I went to the convenience store to buy some ice cream, and found out the store was for sale. The next day, I made an offer! &#8220;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-24370484-1be6-ec8f-d9a6-23a08cddcded\">It should be said that with its aqua green facade and its vintage decoration, Le Petit Dep is as much a treat for your eyes as for your taste buds.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image image\" style=\"--ratio:66.6666666667%\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prevel.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/blog\/prevel-blogue-petit-dep-epicerie-vieux-montreal.jpg\" alt=\"La fa\u00e7ade ext\u00e9rieure de la boutique Le Petit Dep\" class=\"wp-image-1003627\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.prevel.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/blog\/prevel-blogue-petit-dep-epicerie-vieux-montreal.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.prevel.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/blog\/prevel-blogue-petit-dep-epicerie-vieux-montreal-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption>Le Petit Dep\u2019s exterior fa\u00e7ade, very inviting.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-24370484-1be6-ec8f-d9a6-23a08cddcded\">Also serving as a small coffee counter, Le Petit Dep is nothing like the traditional convenience store. In addition to coffee, there are quality food products, sweets, ready-to-eat dishes, pastries and even souvenir items!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-24370484-1be6-ec8f-d9a6-23a08cddcded\"><span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><em><strong>&#8220;I wanted to create a convenience store that offered high-end products with a beautiful atmosphere. It was also important for me to offer the best quality coffee possible!&#8221; <\/strong><\/em><\/span>continues Magda Slezak.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-24370484-1be6-ec8f-d9a6-23a08cddcded\">Great attention is paid to product selection. As much as possible, local craftsmen and producers are privileged, both for pastries and for the selection of beers and beverages, sweets and ready-to-eat dishes. The inventory also includes seasonal products including the &#8220;cool donut&#8221;, consisting of soft ice cream in a fresh donut.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-24370484-1be6-ec8f-d9a6-23a08cddcded\">On the coffee side is Matthew Shefler; ranked in the top 5 of the 2016 Natrel Art Latt\u00e9 Challenge and chosen as the public favorite, this barista uses coffee beans from the 9th Parallel roasters of Vancouver.
