The “<\/strong>Montr\u00e9al Architectural Heritage Campaign<\/a>“<\/strong> organized by the City of Montreal, in partnership with Heritage Montr\u00e9al and the Ministry of Culture and Communications, celebrated last fall its 23rd<\/sup> edition. This event showcases Montreal\u2019s architectural heritage and aims primarily at increasing public awareness on the topic and secondly at awarding outstanding projects and organizations for their work in restoring and protecting this heritage. Thus, during the last three weeks of fall, citizens of the Greater Montreal Area, tourists and curious were invited to a wide variety of activities<\/strong><\/a>, ranging from conferences, expositions, and guided tours to museums and libraries exhibits. This year\u2019s main focuses were on Montreal\u2019s typical fenestration and wooden doors and on the ancient farm houses still found in C\u00f4te Sainte-Catherine and Westmount neighbourhoods. These activities offered a great opportunity to discover an undervalued heritage that has a huge importance in shaping the city\u2019s identity. This event is also characterised by the presentation of awards, including the \u00ab Montreal Belles<\/strong> <\/a>\u00bb Award, given to the city\u2019s prettiest patrimonial house, the Ivanho\u00e9 Cambridge Award of Excellence, the Commercial Heritage Award, the Artisan Award, the Award for Architectural Integration, the Enhancement Award and the Annual Special Award. This time, we have had the honor, along with our partners from the firm Cardinal-Hardy-Beinhaker architects, of receiving the Enhancement Award<\/strong><\/a>, for our work in rehabilitating the Imperial Tobacco industrial complex into what is now the successful Lofts Imp\u00e9rial<\/strong><\/a> condominium project. The jury acknowledged the \u201cexceptional quality of this building recycling project, which enhances local heritage industrial buildings and brilliantly meets municipal orientation in the fields of housing, social mix and densification in central neighbourhoods\u201d. The jury also noted the integration of a sustainable building approach, with the construction of green roofs, reflecting surfaces, green spaces and storm water management installations. This new award adds up to other recognitions obtained by the Lofts Imp\u00e9rial Project<\/strong><\/a>, like the Excellence Award in real-estate of the Qu\u00e9bec Institute of Urban Development and helps concluding this sold-out project, of which we are very proud, in beauty. The Groupe Pr\u00e9ve<\/strong>l<\/a> is pleased to share this success with you and to reaffirm its implication in sustaining Montreal\u2019s architectural heritage, while playing an active role in the implementation of sustainability principles.
